Angry #**##:#** USPS finally got me

Bought 3 rods from a guy here on the boards. He packaged them as good as expected and they still crushed the tube and then taped it back up with the red priority mail tape. 2 rods snapped in half and the other crushed above the reel seat. Wife grabbed them because I got the text they had been delivered and I can't make it there before they close working ten hours. WTH do I do now? I contacted the seller and I hope he has insurance but I don't even know how that works. If I had to guess I'm f****led. So damn mad right now. Nicest rods I never had

Unreal that they cannot deliver stuff unless it gets broken nowadays. I wish they would have to really pay for the crap they break. I would be mad too.

Did the seller send priority mail? If so, supposedly there is at least some insurance on it. $50-$100 I think. Hopefully he had extra though.

It would stop if they were actually liable for stuff they break.

Rods really should be shipped in PVC tubing. Cardboard tubes don't stand a chance in a shipping setting, conveyors, fork lifts, un-skilled labor. To many things could happen

Yup, accidents can happen, but cardboard tubes on a conveyor belt are a recipe for disaster. PVC costs more due to weight, but it takes quite a screw up to break it.

Probably was in all the stuff UPS gets the part timers to seperate and sort in the wee hours of the night/morning so they can be delivered and from what my UPS man told me, "they don't give a crap and you have to spend the first hour or so each day helping them finish seperating the packages before you make your runs". Never had any rods damaged shipped in pvc tubes/pipe but have had the same thing happen to me that you had. I bought 8 rods and were shipped in a make shift cardboard tube and all 8 were broken off just below next to last eye on the rods. The seller worked with me more than i would i thought and it worked out ok.

I hate it for you. I operate a shipping/package business. Cardboard tubes are not adequate packaging. The best packaging for fishing rods is 4 inch PVC pipes. I dont not recomend shipping any rare or expensive rods.

If they broke it, they should have some recourse for you. I have never had a rod broken during shipping and they all come in the card board tubes.

Had a Dobyns rod shipped to me in a PVC tube. It was broken in 3 places. If it can be screwed up, it will be!! No matter the packaging or who was the shipper!!!

I wouldnt ever ship in cardboard. Im 0-3 on recieving cardboard tubes.

I ship in PVC and wrap well, never had an issue. I see Lea had a problem with a PVC, which is very rare. Im actually surprised a PVC tube broke.

That does not fix everything though......I shipped one to Texas in PVC and it was still broken.....You could see tire marks on the damn thing.
