    92 Chevy 4x4

Was going to work Saturday in the snow and the Indictaor light on the floor went out .Finds out the 4x4 is not working .
Is there any way to test if the actuator or the transfer case is gone bad ?
Has any one has this problem before on there chevy 1992 Subarban .

Very small chance the transfer case is out. Is it electric or vacuum controlled actuator? Just chased down a similar problem on my sons 99 zr2 which is all vacuum actuated. Found all the actuators worked fine when vacuum was applied directly. Starting tracing out the vacuum lines and found several leaks. Replaced vacuum lines and everything is back to working.

It could be the front axle actuator, the original was a thermal actuator that had a heating element in it that fails, the replacement unit is electric and has to be wired into the circuit but is 100% better
