    Best 20' boat???

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new 20 footer.. I'm looking hard at 15 skeeter fx20. I hear they are really awesome boats.. I'm downsizing from a nitro z21.. so curious how much I'm going to miss the space??? Any thoughts on this? And the fx20? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Love my 20' ProGator. It's not a speed boat but it handles rough water really well with its deep V hull.

Did you like your Nitro? If so why not look at the Z20? It's 20'2" long. A lot of manufacturers 20' boats are usually in the 20'6"-20'8" range. I think Skeeter, Nitro, and BassCat all make one that is close to the true 20' mark or at least within 2".

Man I looked at everything for over 5 months. Regardless of what anyone says, they are ALL good now days. I see nothing wrong with the skeeters. I'd look at a phoenix 819/919. Pantera 2's are nice as well in that class, I didn't like the trolling motor layout but that's all personal preference. The new z19 nitros are nice but by the time you add the options that most want they aren't any cheaper than the rest. After looking as long as I did I bought a stratos 294 evo with a 200 pro xs. You'll be hard pressed to find a better deal in its class. 19'6" boat that will run mid 70's with a 200 and under $40,000 new.

Just curious as to why? Do you dislike the Z21?

Allison XST is pretty nice and would do well with a smaller motor if your looking for an easy to tow, fuel efficient, great riding boat

Have not owned either one but I gonna guess you are going to miss the room you had on that Z21, especially as compared to the FX20

If I was in the market for a new boat right now, I would only be looking at a Basscat or Phoenix.

In the BCB line, there is the Puma/Cougar (same hull, different interior layout), Eyra, and soon to be Lynx for the wide body guys. The Lynx will be debuted at The Classic in Houston soon. All the above have TM foot pedals that can be move forward or back. Great riding boats, great speed boats, great customer service and most importantly...great fishing boats!

But not 20'. That's kind of like exaggerating your size to your woman!

That's not what the layout pictures are showing. Only the Eyra shows that you can move the pedal forward or back. Maybe that was how it was on the older models and they changed it for some reason or it is a option thing?

BassCat, Nitro and Skeeter all have 20'-2" models currently. I believe Bullet makes several models that are exactly 20'.

You won't find a boat with the room that nitro has, those things are huge. The fx20s are nice as are all new rigs really. I would wait on the lynx to come out in a month. If it lives up to the hype it will be a really nice rig. The only other rig I would consider would be a Phoenix 920. I believe Phoenix and bass cat are at the top of the game right now in production rigs.

You are right on the Puma/Cougar. The Eyra, Jag and the Caracal all have it. I would still look at the Caracal, while not a true 20 footer it is close enough.
