    SI/Di mounting

Im wanting to put a HB up front with side and down imagining on my iClass.....Wanted to see how everyone is mounting the transducer etc on their Skeeters...My Fortrex has the sonar built in it, and its starting to get interference when I hit the TM button...So wanting to change and use external....I also have my Hydrowave on the TM, so wanted to get some ideas and pics of how everyone has theirs mounted on the TM...

Well don't know if this helps but imo side imagine doesn't work well mounted to the trolling motor with it turning it messes with the image. Also you must be moving at a steady rate, down imaging works good and you have the 360 witch I have and haven't been very impressed.

Im more interested in the DI....but the unit has both...I could see a use for SI when Im scouting an area and trolling in a straight line....I think im just going to move my Hydrowave to the top of the TM since it does not matter on orientation...

I mounted the Humminbird si/di transducer on my trolling motor the normal way. I called Humminbird and they exchanged the transom mount transducer for a trolling motor transducer. I agree with the above, I hardly ever use SI. I mostly use the DI or the DI split with normal sonar.

Like someone said above, SI hasn't been all that practical for us on the TM...but the DI is great. I used the Shield saver products for both the xducer mount and the hydro wave mount. The shield saver hydro mount allows you to put the speaker on the stem of the trolling motor. Works well for me.
