Looks great. Congrats! How deep/long is the tray on the Z18? This makes me feel better about my Z20 order but I have the drink/tool holder which will obviously cut down on the install room. Let us know how the on water test goes.

The tray on the Z18, Z19, Z20 and Z21 are all the same.

I did it is a little tight but fits. It takes a couple more towels to protect the sharp areas but it still fits.

Jim, I think you will be fine with the cup/tool holder. It will also route the cable toward the trolling motor to the left which will allow the pedal to be moved forward a bit more if you need it... The big question has always been the base width, which is ok with the new Z trays...

I saw a pic of the ultrex installed and the cup/tool holder in place and it looked exactly like my installation with the fortrex.

I ordered the tool holder and it should be in any day now. Once I get it and install I will post another picture.

I remain optimistic that it will all work out. The waiting on my boat is what's killing me...The struggle is indeed real.

This thing is amazing. No more fighting the trolling motor. Catch a fish. Hit lock and it's done. Love that you can set the speed and take your foot off the petal and the motor stays on that course also. Used the jog functionalot. I guess I dont have anything bad to say about it. Best item I have ever purchased for fishing.

That's great to hear. I had to make a sponsor appearance at the Birmingham Boat Show today and stopped by the Minn-Kota booth. They insured me that the Ultrex would fit my 2017 Nitro with no problems. And thanks for the pics!

I noticed your point 1 is on the front less then 2 foot from the motor. I have done my installs like that in the past. ALWAYS have issues with it. ALWAYS.

What problems do you have. It is not a point one. It is the heading sensor for the Ultrex.

I pray it fits in my 882, if TW ever ships the 52" model. Great install.

Install done today - motor fits, but a few issues to resolve. First, the 882 being 18 ft, the head support rod ends up resting on my rod locker door. In order to get into it, I have to lift the motor up about a foot to open the locker. kind of a pain, but hopefully worth it. More important, the pedal does not fit in the existing well - it is fairly small at the rear. Ultimate fix is to add a larger tray and cut it out to fit. In the meant time, gonna cut a piece of marine plywood to span the tray and have a surface to mount to. Otherwise, looks awesome. Pics to follow. now awatiing weather to break here in MI to get it out and test.

dbassman, I'll be installing my new Ultrex this weekend and had a few questions I wondered if you could help me with.

Did you wire direct or use the plug from your previous TM?
Im going from 24v to 36v. Is the existing wiring able to run the 36v?

    thank you.

I left the plug in place and tied in directly to the wires coming from the batteries. plug is just a filler now so I dont have a hole.

I think the wire is large enough for the 36volt but the circuit breaker at the batteries needed to be changed from 50 amp to 60 amp. Call Minn Kota they will tell you what is required for the Awesome Ultrex!
