    I wasn't with the guy when he checked it out, I was working, so momma was there, and I just asked her if he was talking about the water pump impeller and she said yes ( god help me with this woman, LOL) and its behind the prop

    +1 There is no way the rubber hub in the prop is going to be sucked up into the engine.

    no its the water pump impeller that needs PM, he came bac today to do PM on it

    The water pump impeller is not what I would call "behind the prop". It is located on top of the lower unit around the input shaft. You have to remove the entire lower unit to access the water pump.
