    Stupid question?

Has anyone ever bought say a Ranger 188 or Triton 18' with a motor? Just the boat and trailer. I wonder how much it would cost.

I don't have my paperwork with me but I recollect my motor was almost as much as my boat. They were separate line items on my sale order. Also believe on my insurance I have a cost for the boat and a cost for the motor (associated with their respective cost / agreed upon value).

I bought my RT188 without an outboard or a trolling motor. Options included dual console, three batteries and 3 bank charger, trailer brakes and wheel upgrade. I don't have the invoice in front of me but with tax and title I think it was $15,000+, including swapping the motor from my previous boat. Triton would not sell a boat without a motor but Ranger would.

I priced a rt188 boat and trailer last year. The quote I got was $14k and some change. No motor, tm, electronics, or batteries.

I always told myself my next boat i would purchase this way just the boat and the trailer with the console pre wired and rigged with mer controls then rig everything from the trolling motor to the engine myself that way everything is done the way i like and I can buy what i want from who i want to rig the boat. Idk if its cheaper or not overall tho.
