Active Target install questions
Sorry if previously asked, thanks in advance for replying.
2015 520C. Wanting to install HDS 12 Live (along with current hds 9 gen2) and Active Target. Going to keep the Live unit separate from the older gen2’s. Going to mount on bass boat technologies dual mount. I would like to run independent power wires for 12 and AT but don’t know how to get the wire from bow to battery? What size wire to use? I like the idea of mounting the module under the console, other ideas? What else am I missing?

Here is what I am doing. From battery to a on / off switch.(10G marine wire) From switch to a circuit breaker 30amp 10G wire. From breaker to blue sea terminal block 10Gwire.
from each unit back to terminal block 14G marine. I haven't laid out the box or terminal location yet. SO far I have $150.00 in parts and wire. I found all my info here and on youtube.
This forum has been a great source of knowledge. Keep digging around.

I have a z520l and I was wondering where to put my active target sonar box? The hole in the front is getting kinda crowded with all the cables and wires for alll 3 units and the mega 360 stuff and a terminal block. i was thinking in the storage box but i don't know if i can run the wiring up into the front from there. Surely somebody has already figured all this out for us.

I am mounting mine on the front of the driver footbox. Fully depressed, my hot foot clears by 3-4". Makes running most of the wiring pretty easy, and provides ventilation. Lowrance cautions about needing cooling fan if in enclosed spaces. Ran a bead of silicone seal along the console and front of the rod box to prevent water from running down by the unit.

Yes mounting mine behind the hot foot. I ran all the wires from my 3 units Ethernet cable,TD cable. So far so good.

JSTBASS, where did you connect the power wire? Was it difficult to get the cables from bow to console?

HI Mlatham1. Just starting to do and i have not hook up power yet. I have a switch in the battery area, running that to a 30amp breaker. From the breaker to a fuse block under the console then I plan on wiring each unit to the fuse block. 3 units 1 at the console 2 from the bow plus the box. Pulling wires from the bow to the con is a little tough but it can be done.
I suggest you have help doing this and pull the transducer cable first its the biggest one. need some pic PM me
