The 12 foot version of what I already have, but with pedals! Forward and reverse! http://www.austinkayak.com/products/...dal-Kayak.html
I'll keep the Pro 100 for guests and family.

Looks neat. I think I looked at the ten foot version once. Sure are pricey though.
Actually, compared to other pedal drives they seem reasonable, to me. The 10 ft native propel is $2500. Also, I don't think this one is offered in a 10. It only lists the 12 on the Perception site. I might consider the 10 if they made one. I went to Scheel's last night and they have a pilot on order but its not the color I want.

Have you looked at the Outback?

Outback price is similar to Native mentioned, so more expensive. But I have Hobies and prefer the Mirage drive (flippers) over the propeller drives. Each drive has advantages and personal preferences will decide which one best suits your fishing styles. I started with an Outback and it's even better now since it got the new seat. Now I have a couple Pro Angler 14's , but have thought about trading the older one in on a new Outback and having a smaller kayak available for times I don't want the PA-14.

My Feelfree is under 85lbs and there is no way I would want to lift that sucker onto a roof rack. Good luck.

I'll prolly just use my 10.5 footer for now, to save money,(we'll see when spring fever hits harhar) but when I'm ready it's gonna be the Pilot. There is a youtube video of a guy lifting a 100 lb Nucanoe on to his roof rack, and he uses a similar technique as I use to put mine on my Tahoe. I'm pretty sure the Pilot would go right up there. I'll strap a 25lb weight on mine and try it.

I suspect they weigh the hull only. No seat, no rudder, no rod holders, no gear.
I don't believe they shave hull weights. The hull weight is just that, the weight of a bare hull. Anything added, like a seat, drive system or rudder system is not included in that weight quote and can add 20# or more to the actual "ready to fish" kayak. In the Outback example the hull weights 81#, with the seat and Mirage drive installed ready to go in the water it is closer to 100#. Anything you keep in the storage compartments or a battery adds to that. Good things kayak size limits the tackle you carry otherwise their maximum weight capacity would easily be exceeded.

Same here. And all I'm really doing is looking at newer, bigger stuff. I like how easy my yak throws up on to the roof and goes. So easy. Easy makes me fish more, and when I fish more I catch more.
Having said that, I still want to go look at that Pilot when it arrives at Scheel's on Feb 1st.......
