    Not a yak, but...

Here's my rig for fishing the oxbow lakes off the Red River. I have 2 lakes within 10 minutes from home to launch, so for a quick trip its perfect.

"Not a yak". Close enough! Aren't they sometimes called a sneak boat?

I like the t/m setup, I don't like fishing with a rod in one hand and a paddle in the other. Does not matter whether it is a "kayak", canoe or a porogue (?), it's a similar style of fishing that's fun to be involved with.

Very nice. May want to check with the ldwf. Pretty sure anything with propulsion requires registration and numbers. I watched an agent ticket several folks with bass buggies a while back.

I knew someone would pickup on that. A copy of application is all you need till you get paperwork back from LDWF. Notice the letters FV, they knew this was a FISHING VESSEL. LOL

Here's a few. Not much to it. Flotation foam all around the lip and the rest is just a 35lb fiberglass hull. The other 4 I've owned over the years had at least a 10 inch seat base that put bottom of the seat at top lip and the TM pedal was flat on floor but after 2 knee surgeries and age piling up on me I made a change. I put a piece of aluminum on a break and made a bracket for pedal and made a low swivel base so it sits like a LazyBoy recliner. 10hr days and no cramps is awesome. I've put this one in two oxbows now for a total of 13 trips and I've got 72 bass, 6 sac-a-lait, and a few catfish so far. The best part is I bought the pirogue on Letgo for $175 (He wanted 325 but he never met me before) and I bought the trolling motor on Craigslist for $60 the same day. $235 in the whole rig. I cut 14 inches off the trolling motor shaft and re-threaded it so it will draft in a foot of water and still have the head all the way down on mount for ease in casting. I love it.
