    2017 721 front deck wider?

Has anybody confirmed the deck at the trolling motor is wider on the new 2017 721's compared to older 721s? I have read they're now 45" but was this actually measured? I'm hearing different answers from different dealers; some say it is wider others say it's not.

I didn't measure but it sure looks wider compared to my 16. The gunnels are the perfect height now also, not to short, not to tall. I heard 4" but like you, haven't seen anybody that actually measured it

The more flush the deck is with the gunnell the wider the deck appears. Don't think there is much difference in the width, but perception is reality.

Maybe to you, LOL. Seems like I haven't been fishing in a year, instead of "just" 10 weeks. I would normally be out there, chasing them every Saturday. I stoked to try the Ultrex out, too. I would think that it will help catching them on wind-blown banks.

Have you ordered your boat yet? I see that it's due in March.

LOL Yep, mine will be here end of March. I just set it up for delivery then because I can't use it until March anyway. I can't wait to hear how you like the Ultrex. I'm super excited for that thing.

2017 is 3 1/2 inches wider at the front deck pop up cleats and 2 inches at center of trolling motor tray.

    I was in both a 2016 and a 2017, and the '17 sure seemed a lot wider.

I just got a call that I might have to wait an extra week to get mine, as they are running a week behind right now. So, it might be the week of the 1/16...bummer.

So is it safe to say the 721 deck is as wide as a 920 or maybe wider? I'm getting close to pulling the trigger and would love to know.

Na, I don't think it's 920 wide but it looks pretty close. It's close enough that I don't believe you could tell while fishing from it.

The new 721 is sweet. Greg and company did an awesome job getting the extra width w/o changing the hull. If I needed a bigger rig, that be it no question in my mind. I've always thought the 721 has the sleekest lines of all the Birds.
