    Sig 938

Just picked this bad boy up over the weekend. Put about 100 rounds through it so far. Never had a sig, been a Glock guy, but this thing is smooth.

Yes, I got a similar deal. Mine was $525, and I thought I did good. $450? I bet you got out of the sore as fast as you could thinking they made a mistake.

Those BRG are comfortable for sure. Looked real hard @ one 2 yeas ago when I was looking for a compact 9. I opted to a FNS9c at the time.

I looked it up. What are your thoughts between the two? Likes ?dislikes? It will be for my wife and yes, we will go shoot these before we buy.

    238 - .380

    938- 9mm

the rest is personal choice based on how your wife will shoot it. Always go with a larger caliber if she can handle it. 380 ammo has a come a long way, but it still looses an edge over 9mm......same can be said over .40 or .45......and the debates will go on & on. But personally.......even having a .22 or a .32 is still better than nothing at all.

I have 2 Glocks now. 42 an 26 but its hard for her to pull the slide back. I read that the P238 was easier to pull back.

Can she manipulate the slide w/o a mag in place?

If answer is yes then try & remove 1 round from the mag & try to see if it helps. I have found that a fully loaded mag makes hard to "combat load" a round for people with weaker/arthritic hands. There is a lot of pressure pushing up on the stripper on the slide from the spring in the mag @ full capacity.

If that does not help then I do not think it will matter much on a P238/938 loading from chamber closed & stripping a round. You would have to load a mag in open & release slide lock & then either lock it (leave it cocked & locked). Or bring hammer down to safe, then all one would have to do it cock a hammer to fire.

R.D. Thanks for sharing your input. Very much appreciated. I will try a couple things. I'm more worried if for some reason there's a jam and she's in a survival type situation. On the Sig it has a hammer and a safety too. I'm not exactly sure which way is better for carrying. I personally carry my Glock(s) with a round chambered.
