Considering buying the miniTTi transmitter and flexTT5 receiver to have better control of off camera flashes. Anyone use these? Likes/dislikes? I'm shooting with a nikon D7200 and a soft box. I have been using the cameras commander mode and firing the flash with IR. I want to try some behind the subject lighting so need a radio triggered system. Thanks.
I use the standard pocket wizard plus X with an sb800. No complaints at all. It's not hard to change the power on the flash, not hard enough to spend the extra $300 at the time when I bought them

I use these Yongnou manual transceivers for Canon because I don't want to spend the money for Pocket Wizard. Here is the link for Nikon version. They work fine for me.

I have read a ton of reviews on both the pocket wizard and the yongnou. Obviously the cost is a huge difference. Some of the reviews that use 4 to 5 speed lights have mentioned that the yongnou system has failed after a few hours of shooting. I've also read of the pocket wizard failing to fire. One thing I have a concern about is customer service. Have you experienced or heard of how their customer service responds to item problems? Thanks!
I have the cheap manual adjustment, $29 for two from Amazon version. The got me off camera cheap and allowed me to experiment and learn what I want/need in off camera flash. I have not had any problems, but most of the time I am only using one off-camera flash at a time. I would not hesitate to buy more if I needed them for more flashes. At some point, I planned on moving to the ETTL version, but I haven't done so. I have not had any dealings with customer service. I figured that if they didn't work out of the box I would send them back to Amazon, other than that if one stops working, I'm probably out $15 bucks. (After playing with these and my speedlights, I now want a battery pack strobe to power a large softbox during the daytime because my speedlights arn't powerful enough. lol$$)
