    Thanks,

This is what I have installed today.
The closest one is the HDSI transducer on a Minnkota transom mount shaft/bracket, I have a GPS antenna at the top of it. I have another similar mount using a stainless steel shaft. I use it that way so I can raise it out of the water when fishing in trees and stumps.

The middle one is an ONIX SI transducer with a Transducer Shield and Saver mount.

The farthest one is a Compact SI transducer. On that mount bar, I sometimes use a DI transducer or Vexilar Sonarphone transducer.
The bar is drilled for several vertical heights and I can use it with the widest part against the transom instead of like it is now--it depends on the transducer style I am using.
I sort of mess with sonar stuff.

Just got her back in the garage from a good day on the Chickahominy when I took these pics so she is dirty, but here is the setup. Has taken me a while to get it set up like my last boat. Garmin 73dv on bow, 93sv and hds7 on console and I got a Talon from the extra insurance money!

The setup will be changing again this season too.

That setup is still one of my favorites. Right up there with Wayne's.

Guess I can officially add to this post now. My setup is pretty simple. 2 Onix 10's networked. The bow is mounted with a balzout mount and the one at the console is on a precision sonar mount. I went with the balzout on the front because a bridge style really wouldn't work on this boat and I wanted it at that forward angle over the plate. The balzout keeps it right there and I don't have to worry about it dropping and scratching the plate in the rough stuff so that was a good decision. The precision sonar mount was a prototype from PS and it is awesome. Very solid and really beefed up that console that was quite weak from the factory. Still working on high speed ducer placement as it is still not reading on plane. Also, going to rewire my bow unit with heavier wire directly to the batt as it is getting some low voltage alarms when the motor is starting.

'Tis far, far better to find them on SI or DI than with part of the craft's propulsion system ....

I'm looking to upgrade hds 7 in console to hds 9 on RT 188. Would I have to order new console insert there or is there any easy fix? Looking to sale hds 7 so don't really want to ram mount 9 beside it.

you could go with a precision sonar mount. He has several pics of installs on your boat on his website. I lt would cover the hole and make for a more sturdy versitile mount in my opinion

You won't be able to flush mount the 9 inch. You will have to either RAM mount or get one of these.
