    remote drain plug

hello guys. I have a 95 champ 181 that i bought the remote drain plug for. Upon reading the instructions for installing it Im finding that the original drain hole must be enlarged for it to fit in the transom. Seems to me that the enlarged hole will leave the wood in the transom exposed to any water that gets into the bilge area. any of you out there done this job yet and if so how did you seal the exposed wood? Ive read in here about a resin in the past being used when replacing drain tubes and im also curious where to find that product also. Thanks for your help,

Double check the fit before drilling. Most applications don't even need to be drilled
