Screen Shots HDS Gen 2 Touch

I don't see any fishies in the these shots, but I am looking to see if these can get clearer or it is what it is. I messed with the contrast and it either was to bright(washed out) or too dark to really see anything. I am at 455mhz. And yes I see thee temp is in Celsius, did not notice until later. Had one fish all day and not on any of the spots I checked with the LSS. Still learning what I am seeing

The next to last photo has fish inside the big clump of brush and the small stick up to the left has some fish by it also. This is just what i think. Is this Lake Belton?

They look fine. In the last one it looks like you were turning or something. Experiment with different colors too. My contrast is usually on -2 to - 4 on that color. And several of those screenshots have fish in them.

Bernie.....it's Stillhouse hollow off the main lake off a the wall past Dana peak before you make the hard left towards the bridge. I thought that one on the left might be a fish the more I looked at it, the clump does have fish. Thanks, trying to learn what I am looking at. Akaslyguy I was turning in the last one. I notice the image either blurr or "stretches" depending on how hard the turn. I will check out other colors and give the darker contrast a chance. On the 4th pic about halfway up the dropoff, fish?

Look for little "white grains of rice". In the next to last pic, right in the middle are 3 fish between 15 and 25 ft. To the left of them is a bigger fish between 15 and 20 ft. In the last pic, which is just the sidescan version of the pic before, you can see those same 3 fish in the water column down at the bottom of the screen, right at the line where the screen is brighter. If you look to the left side of the brush pile in the last pic you will also see 3 or 4 more possible fish just before the image gets darker (which is where the bottom is dropping deeper. They are sitting right on the edge of the depth change. That sidescan shot shows a few fish (grains of rice) right in the middle of the brush. Look for shadows on sidescan too. Sometimes you will notice shadows of fish better than the actual fish. If the fish are tight to the bottom and the contrast is a little on the hot side, it will be almost impossible to pick them out on sidescan. But if they are off the bottom you can usually see the shadow and the fish. The higher they are off the bottom, the further the shadow will be from the fish on sidescan.

I like the blue pallet for side scan and the same pallet your using for down scan. Just play around with them. With the blue color I seem to be able to adjust my contrast higher before it's too hot. Those look pretty good though. Definitely fish in the second to last pic and one big one on the right side of the 3rd to last

Yes...yes I do. If I am correct. My shot with the fish in the bush usually means inactive fish, your shot is active fish? I will try different color pallets for sure, did not even think of it.

Also if you press the zoom key on the di screen it will follow the bottom and be zoomed in. Gets a real good pic of what's there

Guys, I have same units (2) and I wish my LSS images looked that good. I have set color at the blue pallet. I have done a lot of imaging at Tablerock lake and it is full of deep underwater standing timber. My images of trees are lacking to say the least. So, needless to say I am disappointed it what I paid for. When I see advertisements on TV or a fishing show on the tube for the other 3 brands their images always look way better than what I am getting.

Maybe someone here could give me some different settings that would help improve what I am getting on my units. Thanks in advance for that!

First and biggest thing is transducer location and levelness. Make sure it has a clear path and is level WHILE idling, don't just level your boat at home and level the transducer to that. Those steps will help most problems. Next, direct wire your unit to the battery so your getting a good voltage supply. Then play with unit settings and pallets.

Mine is located on the step not far from outboard. I also leveled like kry29 is saying. I leveled it then tipped up the nose of my LSS2 a little bit so it is not level until I am actaually moving.
