    Springfield Springlock seat base

I am in the process of recarpeting my 2003 Ranger. My front pedestal seat Fits loose in the base and I am going to address this issue as well. I believe the base insert is worn out. I see that there are repair kits sold for the Springfield Spring lock base, but from what I have read, doing the repair is an real pain. Since I have the carpet removed, I am considering replacing the entire base. New base is about $50 compared to an $18 repair kit but it seems like swapping out the base will be much easier. Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks.

Replace the base. In my experience if the base is worn the bushing won't help. Since the carpet is out replace the base with a new one. Just did the same thing and replaced both bases. They had some cheap ones on the Springfield site in the scratch and dent section. I would look at those. That is what I used and I believe they were like $13 each.
