Both units need the Ethernet adapter AS EC QDE to connect the Ethernet cable to.
The 20' version of the Ethernet cable is AS EC 20E. There are several lengths available (the number represents the length)

To connect two Helix units together, do you also need the network hub, or does that only come into play when you're adding additional devices and units into the mix?
No, unless you add a third unit or you want to add an Ethernet accessory such as 360 or I pilot link
