    SHO 200 vs. SHO 250

This may be a dumb question but.....
If you have a 4.2 liter sho 200 and a 4.2 liter sho 250 with the same prop and the same gear ratio turning the same rpms, but different boats (zx200 vs. zx20) why don't you get the same speeds?

Different efficiency (prop slip) between the two hulls.

Thanks Randy t. I own a 2012 zx200 with a 200 sho. I have gone to the lake and messed around with the jackplate settings. This is what I have come up with....
    5800 rpms
    15-18psi water pressure
No tackle just me and 1 tank of fuel(24 gallons)
    62.8mph
Tried going higher with the jackplate but lost water pressure. Shouldn't I be getting more speed? Prop doesn't appear to be damaged with the naked eye. According to the prop slip calculator, I'm at like 20% prop slip. Any suggestions?

What prop are you running? Just bc the prop isn't dinged doesn't mean it won't need someone me cup added. Either that or your motor is too high creating too much slip.

Running a 25 t1. If the jackplate was adjusted too high wouldn't the rpms go up? Not doubting your statement but questioning.

2 3/4 " PTP with the 25t1 is where id put it. Then if i wanted more id send the prop to marks props. You should be at 68-70 mph with that setup. My friend has the same boat 2012 zx 200 with sho. 68 summer time speed thats loaded to fish.

Thanks. I will have to see what my ptp is. I haven't checked it since I changed all of my setting this last time.

Yeah as you go up on the plate the rpms should increase.
