    TM shaft length Champion 186

Will a 42" shaft Maxxum be Long enough for a 2000 Champ 186? Replacing a 52" hand control Maxxum but have an extra 6 inches or so of shaft above the depth collar the way it sits now.

Gotta think my 184 sits higher than yours and I have run a 42 all season. It comes out the water when it's rough but worked fine for the most part.

My take,,,it depends on the waters you fish. If rough frequently, I would stick with 52". If mostly calm, the 42" should be fine.

I have a 187 Elite Champion. I have a MK maxxum 80. 42". Occasionally if its really choppy it will come out but only very briefly. No worries with the 42" shaft.
