    Question 2003 TR21 Honda 225 Slow Boat ?

Just purchased and love the quiet fuel sipping Honda but I hear all of these speed numbers and with just me and low on fuel I saw 60.2 mph one time. 10" Hydro Jacker and Sportmaster LU running a 14.5 x 21 Viper prop. Boat came with a 19 pitch Solas 4 blade and it is slower than the 3 blade. Is there any room for improvement or should I just go fishing and quit reading all of the high speed numbers I see.

How many rpm's are you turning that 21 viper? I'd say you need a larger prop to get any speed from that motor, at least something in the 25" range. 25" tempest with a hub kit for a Honda maybe.

I would like to try a higher pitch but have serious doughts I will ever get on plane. It is tuff now pointed into the wind and really tuff with one livewell full. What I'm seeing allot is these motors like the PowerTech props?

Those boats were slow with a Honda. Morris Sheehan,of ABA fame, sold several of them at his Alabama dealership. All the ones I saw were rigged with a 23" prop but I don't recall what kind. They were three blades though. You might do a search for his store and ask them about the set up. I'm sure someone there will know.
