    New 250 proxs high idle.

What wouls cause a new 250 pro xs to go on high idle? Idles about 1250. Seems to happen when oil gauge gets close to E, even though I have a half tank of oil.

    Will be taking it in.

Almost guarantee if I fill the Oil tank (in the boat) up it will quit.

That's a good one, Bryan. I'd put you to the same list that Savage provided above (checking that the throttle is returning consistently and firmly against the idle stop as the "1st" thing).

I can guarantee that the oil level in the tank has nothing to do with a high idle condition.

Certainly not that filling the oil tank would make the idle "drop" (the opposite "might" be true intermittently, if you were "overfilling" the remote tank).

Well it was a throttle position issue. and I was not getting Full throttle. Also found my motor was running cold due to debris in the thermostat. I never doubted you guys. :)

Curious as to why this would only happen after days of fishing. All 3 times it happened was at the end of multiple days of fishing.

Bryan, I experienced the exact same issue yesterday at the end of my fishing day. Everything was great and then when I started the engine it would idle 1100 to 1300 RPMs. I also suspect I'm not acheiving full throttle. What did you do to remedy?

The reason for my question is that Post #7 doesn't mention whether it was a bad Throttle Position Sensor or if just a Throttle cable/Hot Foot
    adjustment was made

I had this happen the other day and I found that my Hot foot spring was not fully returning the peddle to the stop.
I sprayed it with some WD and its seems fine now. been out 2 times since and it works fine.
