If you hold down on the button with the check mark it sets a waypoint and a picture. What if you are on a brush pile that already has a way point set and you just want a screen shot or two, but no new way points??

For seeing fish in side view, it's going to be difficult for many fish, as their sonar reflection seems to be as bright as the hard bottom. And that reflection will only be 1 pixel thick for most freshwater fish (at least that's what I've seen). I find it much easier to see the shadows. Rocks on the bottom have a bright return and attached shadow.
It will help to display only port or starboard sideview, and display it full-screen-width. You'll need to play with sensitivity and contrast to make shadows stand out, AND the color palette you chose has a huge effect on when shadows show up.
Use the simulator, or a recorded trip, and play with the settings for an hour or two. I found it to be a huge help.
Just remember to turn it back on - or do a short key press, then a long press & hold!

Will do. I'm hoping to have something worth posting after tomorrow.
Thanks again!
This was not a good thread for me to look at, it made me order helix 12 mega imaging unit that will be here on Tuesday. What settings are you guys running?
Check my prior posts.

First screen shots. Fished River flats Spider rigging by myself and didn't have a lot of cover to get good screen shots to choose from. Not many Mega 9 photos here, so here is one. Will be on a lake with lots of cover over Memorial day, so hopefully I can get some good SI shots as well as better DI shots. Did manage to pull a couple of 2lb Crappie out of this area. Can anyone say if those are fish shadows in the lower right of this shot?
I think I have had the sensitivity too high, but it was a really bright day and my eyes aren't the best.
A couple of the suspects from the pile above

Nice crappie.... I'm no expert, but I would say the lower right shadows are fish
Abandoned Boat from the 60's maybe?
Perfect X-mas tree
A 800X480 image would indicate a H9MSI.
Very Nice Hammer, it does look like an old tri-hull or deck style boat.
