Boat came with a 27p vented T1, but rpm was too low. 26p ventless works great and gets close to 6000rpm when fuel is low. Have not tried a 25p, expecting too many rpm at light load.

I have posted my set-up numerous times in different threads before. I just didn't see this thread until now. I have tried several props, but I found three that I like. Here's what I'm running now:
2015 ZX225/225 SHO dual console
----All factory options installed
----12" Bob's Action Series hydro plate (dealer installed)
----All speeds below are running solo with typical load of gas and gear. The speeds and rpm's were read from the HDS-9 (via NMEA adapter).
-25p Tempest 72-73mph @ 6000 rpm's (with more throttle and trim left, but that's where I stop)
-26p Tempest 76.8 mph @ 6050 rpm's (my best run, but typically 75.5-76mph @ 6k)
-26p Hill's Signature series (S4) 70-72mph @ 6000 rpm's
The stock 25p T-1 ran 75.3mph at 6100 rpm's, but I sold it after I ran the Tempest. The Tempest rides and handles better.
Gitcha Bass On!
2015 ZX225
where are you guys reading your water pressure at. I've not heard of that, I just got something with a little speed to it.
well it seems like most are running a 12" plate, prop center is 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 below pad
I got a 10" plate, and prop center about 2 3/4 below
2009 21i w/ 300 HPDI series 2, 26p 3 blade Fury @ 5900 rpm touched 75.3 gps. it started to chine just a bit. it was full of fuel, empty live wells, all my tackle, just me, 1-8' power pole. That is good enough for me. I don't remember the water/air temp
2006 ZX 200 dual console & dual blades, 2016 200 SHO Flashed, 26 Scorpion 3-blade @ 6100 rpm hit 81.6. Temp was mid 50's, South Louisiana. Had most my tackle. I think i could get 1-2 mph more, I never had the perfect conditions yet, just got it flashed few weeks ago.
-2003 Skeeter ZX200
-Yamaha Vmax HPDI 200hp 2.6 liter
-12" Slidemaster jackplate
-Yamaha 25m prop
-3" below pad
-67.3 gps at 5500 rpms.
This was with slight chop, tournament load, 50 gallons, me at 170lb. Fastest I can get it up to is 71.1 with 10 gallons in winter time.
Only thing ever done to motor was adding carbon fiber reeds.

GPS speed 75.8mph
RPMs 6100
half tank of gas

I just got this boat and I’m happy with that speed so no messing with height on manual jackplate.
So... I'm in the middle of upgrades... So I'm not sure what it will do when it's all done and the ice is gone...BUT
1989 Skeeter SK1700 (kind of a rare bird....anyone know what hull design this boat shares?)
Last summer it had a 1977 85hp Johnson. With a 14.75x13P prop I was able to squeeze 30mph out of it a couple times. Usually it hung out around 28mph with me and a full tourney load.
Last fall I picked up a "150hp" Johnson (I'm finding indications it might be a 175) and it had no prop.
Over the winter I have picked up a stock 3 blade 19P, a stock 21P and a Ballistic 4 blade 23P.
Any ideas what it may run?
Thanks!
Olebasser1, your getting about 5mph more than me with a full load. I have a 2009 21, can you tell me what your pad to cavitation plate is? Thanks
Hello I realize this is an older post, do you remember if you raised or lowered to get the higher speed, I have the same set up but can only get 72.8
Thanks

New to Skeeter and Yamaha have an original (curved strake) 25P T1 prop on way and then to Croxton for clean up and B&B. So, not knowing if these numbers are good or could be improved with a different pitch prop or worth working the T1?
