    Help me decided on a motor...

    Mercury 200HP or less and debating - Optimax, ProXS, EFI

    Boat length desire (>18ft but <20ft)

    Thoughts, comments, considerations ...or other suggestions/recommendations

    Optimax/ProXS if finances can support it...........efficiency and fuel economy drastically better than EFI

    Had both 225 opti and 200 EFI.. my 225 opti is louder at dock Actually. But burns way less fuel at idle cruise. Wide open same MPG. Opti will resale better and boat looks newer with an opti on transom

    Opti oil isnt cheap. Neither are its plugs.It also needs a huge battery and has to crank a lot. 200EFI when warm is nice..Just touch key and it fires. Opti is heavier. Opti also has that holeshot lag.

    I wouldn't run away from a 200 EFI or 150 xr6 . Just have to expect more fuel burn. but cheaper maintenance..And some smoke.
