Picked up an entry level 'yak

Found a Lifetime Tamarack 120 on sale at the local Farm and Fleet last night. Actually wasn't supposed to go on sale until today, but they let me get it early. I've seen them anywhere from just under 400 up to almost 500 at a few places. This one came home for $189. Should be a good way to get started.

Nice. Wife and I typically rent kayaks on small river here, didn't this past year, miss it. They rent sit-on-top Jackson brand. I let my sandaled feet over hang the sides, keeps me cool.

Sweet!!!! WARNING they are addicting, lol. I picked up a NuCanoe last year, it's like rigging a boat. I even have a micro power pole on mine....I don't even have one on my boat, lol. Have fun, it's a totally different experience out there.

Enjoy, I've had my kayak for about 4 years now and still have a blast in it. Be sure to post some pics of the first catch

While I also have a 1652 G3 tinny, it is nice to just stick the yak in the back of my van and GO. I have added a DIY PVC kayak roller for easy transport.

I can launch in places the tinny can't go and I can fish the shallow flats on which others do not have access. Yakking is fun.

My wife started out with that same yak, but in red. It is now the daughters. Good entry level yak. Have had no issues with it.

Wow that thing was almost free! What a great start. I'm still using my starter yak. I look at lots of other spendy models tho. I'm only gonna upgrade if I yak more than I use my bass boat next year. Right now I think about yakkin' more than the big boat. It's just so damm simple and easy and fun. Sometimes I put my rod down and just float around checking out the water critters. Frogs and turtles and stuff. So relaxing.
