(865)397-6455 is the number to Bucks "N" Bass. Jason Molter is the guy you need to talk to. He is one of the owners with his father in the store and one of the owners of the Ledgehog. They open at 6 Monday to Saturday and close at 5 or 6 this time of year I'm thinking. They have a Facebook page too. The store is located in Dandridge TN... Douglas Lake.

I thought that the bait might not track straight on the lift stroke on seeing that the body is made from a willow leaf blade, but you're the pro at making blade baits. You might be really on to something. It will really look like stunned bait fish swimming off to one side on the lift. Does the willow leaf bait have a more erratic fall, like a lead jigging spoon or Hopkins, compared to your regular straight body blade bait? You can probably make some non cupped willow leaf baits by squeezing the blades in a vise protecting the blade with some cloth.

Yes. It is much more erratic than a flat metal blade bait. I made some from size #5 willowleaf blades and I flattened them out with ease... These are size #8 willowleaf blades and have a lot more shape to them and the vise and or raw hide mallet would not flatten them out like the smaller blades. I'm still playing with baits... I'm considering using 2 willowleaf blades cupped together with bb's inside before they are poured and hooks added. Then it would be symmetrical, rattle, but may not vibrate... It would still look more food like than a spoon, rattle and have fluttering fall action. I have accounts at Hagens and Worthco where most blades are made, I will be calling both soon to see if they will make/sell me some stamped/finished blades before they are cupped. This would give me the flat piece that I want. Depending on the particular die, Depends on if the cup is stamped in them at the same time as the cut like in the video below on smaller Colorado blades at Worthco.

Mike does it matter at what angle you mount the lead head part as to the action it has? For example in the pics it shows the eyes facing up, wonder how much the action would change if you mounted the lead at different angles?
