Nitro z7 and Minn Kota Ultrex

Does anyone know if the new Ultrex foot control will fit in the factory Nitro cut out?

Not sure, havn't measured the cutout. I posted a diagram on one of the post over on the electrical pages about the Ultrex Footpedal diminsions. Seems like it's 9" wide and either 12 or 13" long.

It does not fit in my 2011 Z-9. Had to block it up. Took it out the 1st time yesterday & it sucks! I am going to have to figure out something.

I have a 2015 Z7 and it doesn't fit either. The marina that installed it blocked it as well. I have see it yet or tried it. Will let you know next week.

I'm not sure of anyone confirming the factory cutouts for the recessed trays are identical across models and what years or trolling motor models. I'm going to find out tomorrow if it fits a 2014 Z8 the hard way...hoping the installer will have options...LOL Here's a picture of my tray with the existing Fortrex foot control...sort of bottle shaped. Approximate dimensions: 6.5" (heel), 10.5" (toe), and 16" length.

Well just came from the installer...not good news...LOL If your recessed tray and bow panel is similar to the below picture, the ULTREX foot pedal will not fit flat in the tray. The rigid cable at toe end adds about 2-3" on the footprint of the ultrex basic pedal because there is very little flex to clear the edge of the bow panel. There were two basic options available without replacing the tray. One option is to raise the entire foot pedal so the cable clears the bow panel. Second option is to raise only the toe end of pedal which allows the cable to clear the bow panel. I'm not an installer so can't speak to other models of boats or TMs. I'll be able to post some pictures of the finished installation in a couple of days if the weather cooperates...LOL

My 2013 Z9 pan is also not carpeted on the bottom BUT my dimensions are very similar to above. So, no, I don't think we are Lucky.

There is a pic on the nitro owners facebook page of a z21 with the pedal mounted with no blocking and the cup/tool holder in place also. The 18, 19, 20 and 21 should be fine to install it in

I know you're asking about the Z7 tray but I thought I'd throw this out there for others. I measured the tray in a 2017 Z20 at the BPS Leeds store today. It measures 19" long...12" wide at the front & 8'' wide at the very back. The BPS/Tracker boat manager told me he'd already installed the Ultrex on a 2017 Z21 with no problems.

Put my Ultrex pedal in the tray of my 2017 Z18 and it fits great. Now for the install. This is going to be a blast.

Copied from Syncros's post in Ranger Forum:

I know people have commented on the Ultrex pedal fitting in their recess tray so I just measured my Fortrex and Ultrex pedals. Dimensions are as follows.

    Ultrex:
Width at the heel side is 8 5/8 inches.
    Widest point is 9 inches.
    Length is 12.5 inches.

    Fortrex
Width at the heel side is 7.5 inches.
Widest point is 8 3/8 inches
    Length is 12 inches.

The screw holes to mount it in the tray are in the same place.

Has anyone done any modifications for a z7 without having to do a cut out which makes the Ultrex foot pedal comfortable to use. Pics would be awesome. Thanks in advance

I got it to fit in my 2011 Z7. Put it as far back as possible, and cut a notch in front cover for cable to go in, then notched out back for cables and 360 cables. Works great and stays in place.
