    Trailer Hook Keepers

Found a great way to make trailer hook keepers for my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits other than the tubing that come with the trailer hooks. Like my trailer hooks to swing freely. I take an empty milk carton and cut it up. I then take an office hole punch and punch a bunch of holes in it and keep the hole cutouts. Put them on the hook in back of the trailer hook. They won't come off and are easily removes with a pair of scissors. Works great.

Another good tip, slip them on a safety pin. That way, they are secured in the storage box and already have a pierced hole for easier installation.

Find the smallest cable ties and cut the square end off. Slid the point of the hook thru the slot in the square end and twist it.

The best keeper I've used is a 1/8" piece of #14-12 solid wire insulation. Strip it off and cut to length. Plus it comes in different colors so you can add a splash of color,I like red.

Sounds very similar to the "trailer hook pal"

I would feed the cut-outs onto a large safety pin....keeps them organized and provides a starter hole when one is needed.

Will the hole punched one work with a trailer hook pal?

Get an inner tube for a bicycle tire and a whole punch and you can make a few hundred
Why do people fish, some say people fish to get fish, this is obviously false

    Buy an O-ring...maybe 90 cents...
slice 1/4 inch segments off of it...
pull them over the main hook barb w/needlenose...

    nothing is cheaper or better...
been doing that for 5 years on spinnerbait and buzz baits for the stinger trailer hooks...

while I am at it..use 4 inch e ties to replace all those flimsy rubber bands on your baits...
get a bag with many colors for maybe $2 and match to your bait...another super kool idea...

Fish tank air tube. Couple bucks for like two miles of the stuff. Slide small piece over the eye of the trailer hook and push main hook through. Never had one come off supply last for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time !
