    The Lindner boys have preached going to smaller and smaller jigs as the water gets colder. It seems to make a big difference for them. I do ok on jerkbaits in cold water on bass and pike. Never really tried the Lindner's advice as I don't fish jigs very often.

    Need to do this myself, as my current method of downsizing is going from a 5" hula grub on a 1/2 oz head, to a 4" hula grub on a 3/8 oz head.

    When the temps drop down into the low 50s and especially the 40s a jerk is hard to beat. I love it when then suck'em in head first!! A jig is always a good option as well though.
