    Gambler re carpet question

Im about to start a carpet job on a 2100 think its a 2003. Anyway it looks like they use a metal carpet trim on the bow. Can that be reused? I am hoping to be able to drill out the rivits and re install it with the new carpet. Does this sound about right? Thanks

That is what I did and instead of replacing with rivots I used stainless screws. The trim is very easy to bend..

I would go with rivets the screws will start to back out and have to be re-tightened. JMO

use screws, the Sterlings come with screws.

use 5200 sealant/adhesive on the screws when installing, make sure Stainless Steel screws are used.

I have re carpeted 2 gamblers

    IT'S HARD WORK!

Has anyone had a problem with the seat bottom screws being stripped out. I don't know if it was just screws before but there were inserts for screws that didn't hold very well. I was trying to think of a better idea while there was no carpet.

I'm about to install new carpet on my 04 Outlaw. Gambler is telling me to use Syntec Aggressor 16 oz from Bass pro. Any suggestions I don't want to order something to thick where as I cant shut my lids.

You'll be fine w 16oz. That's the weight the factory used on them. I used 20 on my 2100 a few years ago and was ok. (had to put a few lid pulls on at first till they broke in but it was not bad at all)

I just recarpetwd my 2100 with 20 oz from the bassboatseat store. It worked out great. I used rivets on the trim. They were not hard to install. Make sure to get 1/8 inch long shank rivets if you go that route.

White Gambler, Curious about which carpet you would recommend 16 or 20 oz, what brand and planning on putting memory foam also; if that makes a difference. 2005 Gambler 2100. Thanks

I used heavy carpet on my older boat. you can use hair clippers to shave the sides of the lids slightly so they open and close correctly. I really like the 22oz. carpet I put in.
