last week one of my wheel bearings on my trailer blew out, luckily I was able to get the rig into my parking spot. Before I start taking it apart, what size wheel bearings are in the Boat mate tandem axle trailer?

Allison XB2003/Merc 200
You could get the serial # off the trailer and call Boatmate. Depending on age they should have the information. You could also pull a set of bearings and take to a auto parts place. I've done that with my pontoon wheel bearings.
TSC has the bearings. There are 2 sizes they carry in stock , I can't remember the size on the Boatmate. 1 3/8" I'm thinking.
you have good equipment, buy Timken bearings.
I keep a spare set of bearings and a new seal stored in my truck. The bearings have been packed with grease so if ever needed they're ready to go. When I did the maintenance on the bearings last I also switched to the Mercury 2-4-C grease so I only need to carry one gun.

So my Boatmate trailer for a 1999 Allison XB2003 uses a special hub. If you go to etrailer.com and search for 168233 grease seal, L44610 outer race, L68110 inner race, L44649 outer bearing, and L68149 inner bearing. Those should be the parts you need.
It will be hard to take a picture, since my boat is in storage. Plus, for it to be any help, I would have to take the wheel off. Give Boatmate a call or just order the parts. The total cost with shipping is probably $25. You can tell very quickly whether or not they fit the hub.
If they do worked out, do carry a spare greased bearing, tools, and bearing cap. It's a common problem to have (since the bearings and wheels get submerged).
maybe after a long haul let the hubs, bearings etc cool a bit before putting the trailer in water. if hot they will contract possible getting some moisture in. never lost a wheel bearing, grease reg. rock tire checking for looseness and I purge the grease or repack after several years. I always buy top quality bearings for anything that requires them. killin a fishing trip or outing really sucks.
I found this on the Ally board from a while back. It was a mid 90's Boatmate.
L68149 bearing and L68110 cup (race) - this is the inner bearing
L44649 bearing and L44610 cup - outer bearing.
Seal is a 16667
I believe the single lip seal 16667 is no longer available and that the double lip seal 168233 is now the correct one.
Boat Mate told me the seal was changed in the 1999/2000 models. Could be 2.33" or 2.56" OD. I think #168233 is the smaller seal, any one have the # for the 2.56".
The 168233 is the smaller one and the one definitely for a 1999 trailer. The seal number you are looking for should be found on this page: http://www.championtrailers.com/trailer-seals/
168255 is the larger seal I was looking for. Thanks for the link.
