    Blue water nav light question

I am going to put the red and green strips on the bow of my boat. Has anyone done this? Did you stick them on the rub rail or above it? Also, did you tie into the wires for the existing bow nav light?

    Thanks

YOU CAN TAP INTO THE EXISTING NAV. LIGHTS. YOU CAN MOUNT THEM ABOVE THE RUB RAIL OR ON IT OR IN THE RUB RAIL. RUN SOME SILICONE TO MAKE SURE IT STICKS GOOD. MINE ARE ABOVE THE RUB RAIL. THAT WAY IT CAN BE SEEN FROM ABOVE SO GOOGLE EARTH CAN SEE ME…LOL

I just soldered mine into the existing wiring. I dont ever use the post anymore but have it onboard still just in case. I cut the rubrail away on mine to recess them very clean looking.

I did the "cut a slot in the rubrail" method.

Post #10 shows how I made the cut and glued the parts in place.

Spliced the wiring into existing bow light receptacle too.

Put mine above the rub rail. Apparently I rub things and was worried about damage. Wired into existing post wiring.
