Fortrex #80 and stabilizer are on the boat! Here are a couple of pics of the boat so far. Next steps will be more restorative work. Needs a little wet sanding on the top cap and we need to sand blast and rhino line the trailer. I'm going to just enjoy it for a little while, and I'll start the thread back up and rolling when we get going with phase 2! Thanks for following along!

Great looking boat. It's great to see others restoring their older boats. I have a 1989 Stratos 201 that has gone through some restorations over the years. Very interested in seeing and reading about the trailer restoration. Great choice on rims, by the way.

The steering wheel is easy to swap. One nut in the center and the wheel comes off just like any other wheel. There is a Woodrift key so be careful not to lose it.

The live well valves are actually still functioning properly on our Stratos. So, unfortunately, I wouldn't know what to tell you to use! Sorry about that!

They are 245/40/R18's. I tried 245/45/R'18's and they were just too close to the fenders so the tire shop swapped them out for one size smaller and they fit just right. I did have to remove the back boards off of the fenders for the tires to clear. They were rubbing across the top.

Holy cow that boat is unbelievable for its age. Great find, and great job with the upgrades.

Now all you need is lithium batteries!!! That will save anywhere from 25# to 100# on your back end weight. Depending upon how many batteries you run. Great project by the way, looks amazing!!!
