    Panoptix was KEY today!!!

This was my 3rd trip out with my new PS21 panoptix ducer. Im still learning it but today.... it was INVALUABLE! I was able to scan and find the school and stay on top of them. it was a lights out trip! A buddy of mine was fishing right next to me and using his H-Bird 360 and couldn't keep up. The panoptix is the real deal!!!
I know this board isn't the best place to show off catches but it was because of the Garmin Panoptix it was possible!

    Ok so details....
super cold water, about 35-36 degrees, the fish wanted a super slow, long pauses approach from a shad rap. When I first found the school, I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. Once I caught that first fish I aimed the panoptix towards where I got bit and saw many "bumps" that weren't there before. I was fishing 9-12' and there was a slight bit of bottom weed so the bass were sitting in the weeds, not showing up on the panoptix till I triggered the school, then multiple would come off the bottom showing me small humps and bumps that weren't there a minute ago. Only a couple fish ever raised off the bottom enough to show a "ball" type mark. So after catching that 1st one, it was easy, pan back and forth till I saw irregularities in the bottom composition that weren't there before, make the cast and catch another! Couple of the times I actually saw my bait coming back and fish under it looking at it when I paused, if that was the case, all I had to do was twitch the bait and watch the bass eat my bait and my line would tighten up!

Have been able to do this several times with baitfish and schooling fish.. Panoptix is the real deal! Watching a fish attack your lure is an increadable thing.

Dave would you mind sharing this on this thread (linked below) on Walleye Central Great information you share. And apologize to the board can't comment because of once again problems with password and WC. Won't even though it is the one I have used time and time again.

Walleye Central at one time was a excellent site but with the recent issues with passwords think its diminished. One day using a password works the next day not. I still can't get on. Will keep trying. Had over 3000 posts at one time, had to start over.

Your experience with panoptix is very good one that I would like to share with others. Again thanks

No Problem, I just hope the way I explained it and my limited experience can help.
