You are correct. A xb21 250will run 80 with a piss poor setup with pretty muchwhatever you want in the boat. 90 is a number that can be achieved with a good setup and conditions any time of the year. 95+ is reserved for great conditions cool weather a great setup and the desire that do it. I also don't prefer to run over 90 without a buddy nearby.

Strokers are a a touch faster yet and bullets a touch slower.

Don't forget that those 1900lb Charger 210 elites can do it too...just read that on the Charger board , they are getting 77\78 with a 250proxs so your 350lb lighter hull should be 80's easy where ever they are accomplishing that! lol

Once the water gets cold enough, the thermostats sorta quit working.

I ran a borrowed prop yesterday. Thanks To another Champion 202 owner. Was a 27 tempest worked by Josh. This borrowed prop is the ticket. It had just enough lift, and allowed me to hit my numbers very easy. Also helped with the small amount of chine walk i was getting with the other prop. I dont have the numbers,,rain hurt hitting my face. I was just trying to see if this was what i needed. So Josh is going to re tune my tempest. And B&B it. I will try and post a short video.

I run 79.8 for about 3 minutes. I thought i had it on GO Pro but the only thing i could see was the shy. Tried every thing to get to the mark. I actually believe i can get 81-82. I was hitting 5650 and could not get any more RPMS. That what Josh said when we spoke. So a little more tuning.
Going to et more fishing time now.

Fastest prop I've run is a 27 Tempest Plus out of box. I've run more than one 27 Tempest plus and one was faster than other

So I have almost same setup 2000 202 with 2009 250 Pro XS, 26 tempest, 3.5 below pad. I am trying to get comfortable with chime walk. Starts getting pretty bad at 65. Have not learned to drive through it, still learning. My question is you mentioned steering wheel getting stiff? Is this something that is supposed to happen when boat is set up right? Mine is not stiff at all.

Do you have a water pressure gauge? If so, try raising the motor 1/4 inch. It should help lessen the chine walk and it might slightly stiffen the steering.
