    2016 211r Speeds

So on the website, it states that the 2016 211 out runs its predecessor by 5 mph. With people running their 2013-2015 211's up to 73, can anyone confirm the 2016 hull will run a true 78? Also, regarding hole shot, has it improved on the new models? In the past the Legends that I rode in, had a pretty rotten hole shot with full wells and 2 guys with gear. Any info would be great.

    thanks,

    Nick

I think they are talking about the difference between the 211 and the 211R. The 211R should be about 5 miles an hour faster. I didn't see any mention of year models, so they are just talking about the 211 vs 211R.

I own a 2013 model that will run 70-73 mph depending on load. In the early spring i was with a friend fishing a tournament in his 2016 model and we saw 76-77 mph. I believe it was in 2014 when they made changes to the hull and the 211R is faster than my 211.

Pretty sure the "r" is for the higher raised rear platform and not really anything to do with the hull change in 2014. My 2013 is a 211r.

My 2013 is a 211r also, but I think they did change something on the hull after 2013 that was supposed to be a few mph faster

My understanding is that merc changed thier lower unit setup on the 250 xs and legend adjusted the 2014 211r hull pad to work better.

I can't get youtube to work, but I remember a video with Kody explaining the differences. They basically just made the "airfoil" 4" wider on the hull. The top cap has the raised decks and center rod locker. They made these changes in late 2013. That's why there are some 2013's that are the 211, and some are a 211R.

Merc changed the lower unit on all the ProXS models about the same time. They also reduced the hp on the 250 by 9.

Mine also has the raised back deck. I just know for a fact that its slower than the new ones. Still rides just as good though.

I see all kinds of post of guys running their 211's (not R models) to 70-72 mph, can anyone confirm that the 211R is a true 75-77 mph boat? I do not see these types of numbers posted anywhere.

    thanks,

2014 211R I can hit 75mph only when unloaded and less than half tank of fuel. The R is just for the raised rear deck, in 2014 they changed the hull so yes it's a few mph faster than earlier year models.
