The 29hp4 couldn't take the tq spun a hub ...30 hp4 on the way!!!
He designs his boats for efficiency and since that boat was designed before the 300x 3 liter, he makes disclaimers to warn against additional engine weight.
If everyone were as diligent about weight placement as bat turn, there wouldn't be any issues but unfortunately, the masses are not.
Where would you guys say the balance point or center of gravity is on a 2002/3. At least where are you trying to get it to? The drivers seat?
Stroker Dean are we still talking Boats? Ha Ha Ha
It seems I need to try a 30 promax
New stiff 29 mazco hp4 from Billy seems to be a great prop.83 mph @ 4900... Almost done with break in and see what she'll do
91 @ 5400....may move plate in two inches to see what it does..out of break in should be over 100mph next time out
Been stripping down and 89xtb from Biloxi if you know what I mean. Picked up a rig yesterday with damaged hull with 250xs, to do the same set up.One minute sounds like a good idea then the next not. Also has the hydromotive 14" jack on damaged rig that will be swapped over to start. Also planning on same with batteries. Friend builds motors and runs them on his xtb to break them end before he turns them over to the customer. He just took a 300x off of it and tended to run over on the driver side until a passage was in the other seat or the weight was added over there. Will see what jack plate and set up he had and what worked best. Was fixing to put old ox66 225 on it when this deal feel in my lap. When the weight was right that thing it would roll out. He also has been driving for many years. Also ran well in the rough. Typical xtb fashion
Have a 28p hydro tec 4 blade and 32p four blade to try when I get to that stage. will see what friend tried on 300x.
Keep us posted,i put batteries on left side to balance the wright. Two bats 130lbs trim pump 10lbs and trolling motor 35lbs...that's 175 lbs and the owner weighs 170lbs so I think I have it pretty good.At 12.5 setback...
