    Laser bass boats

Anyone have one of these? My dad's friend had one and I remember it being a sweet ride. I believe he had a 17 ft with a Johnson 150 GT. My dad couldve bought it from him before he sold it but for whatever reason he passed on it. I'll have to dig through pictures at my parents house some day to see if I can find a picture of it. Here's one from Google:

I owned a Gemini Billy West Moreland edition. 17 1/2 foot with a Yamaha 150. Great boat, good friend of mine bought it from me and still has it. It was a Laser hull.

Nope... He had a white hull, silver flake topcap and orange and black accents from what I can remember. Gray carpet.

I have a 1988 Laser 3880, 19ft with a 1992 Johnson Faststrike 150. Love this boat. Got a deal from a friend because the motor was blown. I had it redone by Blackbird in PA and has run great ever since.!!!!

    Re: Laser bass boats (Neubs24)

that laser pictured there with that 1983 or 84 mercury inline 6 tower of power was a bad ass bass boat for that year, that was easily a 65+ mph boat,my 1985 glasstream 1770 hydra bass tops out just under 65mph,I have 4 batteries and a good sized tool box in the back im sure my boat will clip the 70 mark with my 1985 merc inline 6 tower of power if I lessened the weight i carry.
those inline 6's from 83-85 were just bad to the bone.......

My dad had one that looked just like the one in the pic, except it had a Black Max 150 on it. It was the first boat I ever got to drive without a paddle!

I bought a blue Laser with a black max 150 on it and it ran in the high 70's. Laser made 2 types in the lat 70s and the 80s one was for racing and the other was for fishing. I gave mine to my father in-law and he still has it.

I have a 18' 1987 with a 150xp that will run 70 it is a wild ride for sure. I also had a 17' 1985 with the same xp on it and it would only run 64 the 87 is a far better boat imo.

I had the 17' Laser with a reworked Black Max 150. It Fished great and was scary fast mid 70's with a killer holeshot. It out ran most everybody back then 200 hp boats.. whatever. It was a wild ride for sure.

Had to reply my father had 2 different lasers and as far as I can remember there wasn't a boat around that wanted any of it.I can still remember the rigged up power steering we made with bungee straps on the xr4 he had for the 50 to60 mile runs down the ms river when he got the xr6 200 on the 19 footer wild is an understatement they were good looking boats back in the day both of his were black with silver metallic flake that was in the late 80s early 90s I can actually remember there being 4 different laser boats here at that time if anybody has any picture post em I have a couple but there all from a Polaroid Cameras ill see if I can get em posted
