Hawk boats I believe was brought about by John Storie after he sold Champion boats and after he sold or whatever he did with Cobra boats. Patt Goff can tell you the exact story though. Not sure that he had anything to do with Bass Hawk boats.

your boat is a "Bass-Hawk", not a "HAWK" - two totally different bloodlines of boat. this thread is for HAWK boats, you should visit this thread instead: http://www.bbcboards.net/rare-boat-b...bass-hawk.html.
and idk about the 181 ratings, it's odd that they were reduced over a year. it seems like from the 90s on, boat manufacturers have been lowering ratings on their products to keep them 'safe'. but i really am not sure.

I have a 97 super 1900 and it is awesome. People always think i am wrong about the year. ..they think it is a 2007 but it is a well built boat and I feel it was ahead of its time. I will post pictures later this week

In the process of purchasing my 2nd hawk.(Both 2100 dc) These boats were definitely ahead of their time and will do everything a boat costing 20,000-40,000 will do for a fraction of that. Its a no brainer purchasing a hawk in good used condition.

Boys I bought a '97 Hawk Super 1900 back in May of this year(2014) and I have fished in probably 16 tournaments since and it has performed like a brand new one. Sure it has it's wear and tear(needs new carpet, fiber-cracks and oxidation but I plan on doing some work on it this winter and have it ready for action in late Feb of 2015.

I LOVE this boat. I know I have read some old posts on different sites about the company that built it and them going under and how the support was bad but you know I bought the boat knowing all that was behind it. Any costs are mine and knowing that I have a 17 years old boat allows me to have little frustration. I've had to spend money on it already. New graphs(Hummingbird 899 HD wide on the console and Lowrance HD up front) New parts for the trolling motor. I am putting new upholstery in it.

Anyway you get what I'm saying. I love that its a John Story boat and I am very happy to have it. I won't ever sell it. I will give it to my oldest son first.

Old post, but I just bought one so I wanted to share. Found a 97 Super 1900 with a Mercury EFI 200 hanging on the back. Low hours, garage kept, and new electronics. Hard to pass up.

Still working on finding the proper settings on the water, but have seen 65+ on GPS with 2 people, full fuel load, and all gear. I know I can gain some as the RPM is lower than it should be at WOT and the jack plate is still set static. I plan to raise the motor up to get the shaft 3.5" below the pad and do some testing. Manual jack plate makes it a longer path to the ideal tune and always a compromise based on conditions.

Has anyone gone to a larger offset hydraulic jack plate on this setup? I am considering going to a 12" setback Atlas, but also know that it's possible to get to much setback.

I'll get some pictures up soon.
