    Question for Reel quality

Found Sale of H2O Xpress reels at Academy Sports. The H2O Xpress Menace for $49.99 normally $99.99 and the H2O Xpress Mayhem for $74.99 normally $149.99. Anyone use either or both these baitcaster reels and what ore you reviews?

Those are generic reels made probably by Silstar with the house brand name on them. Nothing peculiarly wrong with that...Silstar makes reels for a lot of different brand names. For a reel for 50 bucks it's probably a good deal. However, if I were spending $150, I would stay with a name brand reel; Shimano, Dawia, Lews etc. That's just my opinion.
    Don't worry Ma'am....
    I'm only here for the

They make for a good 1 yr reel depending on how you treat them. I know a couple of guys that has gotten 2 yrs out of them but ...not all o their reels.

Keep a eye on Ebay. Simmons sporting goods always has great deals on new reels. I have purchased a few from them at typically a 30% discount off of retail.

I am using only Academy sports. Like all reels, maintenance is key. I have mainly the Mettles. I like the Menace a lot. I found one on ebay for $30 and was pleasantly surprised. This reel is offered in a 7.9 which is exceptional. I just purchased two myself. I have a Mystic which is there other high dollar reel. As good as any high dollar reel on the market. The Mayhem is a sweet deal.

Hold your receipt, use it for a couple months, if you do not like it return it. They are great about returns if you have your receipt

I have several. They fish just as good as my more expensive reels. A good reel for the man who doesn't have to impress anyone.
