Transducer question for the rear of boat?

I bought a set of 1040's and I need a transducer for down and side imagining.... and for sonar while I'm running wide open.. I'm new to the garmins and just need some advise.. Thanks

I have 1040's and love them easy to use, remember the home key is the source for everything on the unit and makes it so easy to navigate

Pretty certain you will need a GCV 10 for side scan and the 1040 am using only a down scan transducer/chirp

Others will have a better idea for SS.

    Good

I'm running a GT52 on the transom and GT15 shoot thru. This setup gets me the best of everything, imo. Perfect depth reading at speed on plane, and down/side imaging when idling. Plus I can split frequency between both transducers.
