2000 203 front deck butt seat leaning back .

    Hi everyone,
My 2000 203 has the front butt seat leaning back about 10-15 degrees.
I took the pedestal out and it is straight , the plastic tube that is in the deck is not cracked , just tilted.
Anyone know how it is mounted under the deck .
I have a trolling motor pedal pan that if I take it out I might be able to get to the mount.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Paul
    Ps
    I only weigh 210lbs at 6'

Pull your recessed pan and you'll see the base, 4 to 6 bolts though the deck, below your carpet are the heads of the bold they usually filled over with bondo type material, if you carefully lift your carpet up depending on the carpet clue you might get away with replacing it without having to redo the carpet.
you can google seat post pedistools to see what's available to replace it with.

I put a new one in when I did my carpet over, and it was a major PITA to get to. (99'203) I cut two holes in my front compartment and had to chop out a ton of foam to get to the nuts on the underside. I covered the holes with deck plates, so it looks fine, but you sure wanted to cover the kids ears when I was trying to get the old one out.
I could not see mine when I removed the TM recess.

I have mine all torn up right now, can get a pic or two for ya.

Those nuts are the flanged nuts with spikes or teeth that pull down into the material as you tighten them down. For some reason, Champ didn't use stainless, and they corroded a lot. The bolts are stainless, just not the nuts for some reason. I replaced with stainless.

I used a dry wall saw to hack and cut the foam out, it's a damned mess to do but no other way.

If it's tipping, either the base broke where the seat post cup is welded to the base, or something in the deck gave way. I hope it's not the latter.

If you need a 1.75" base, let me know. I replaced both of mine pre-emptively with 1.77" snap locks and got new posts.

Just let me know if you need it once you get into it. I am out of town next week, but we can figure something out. I won't be looking for much more than just shipping and I have 2 to pick from, can pick the best one.

    Hi Kevin,
I am going to start on the base when it gets a.little colder.
    Maybe mid nov.
Could you send me on of the base's and when I get working on it if I need it then I have it.
If I do not need it I will send it back to you.
I will pay shipping both ways and pay what you want for it.
    Thanks

    Hi guys
Getting ready to replace front pedestal seat mount.
I was picking around and found out the front of the mount where the pipe is welded the weld broke.
I am happy for that maybe no deck problem.
    Thanks for all the help

    Happy new year everyone,
Well I found out why my front ped. Seat was leaning,
Mount broke around the weld, and I also found out the mount is an offset hole mount that is no longer available.
So I ordered a new 7x7 ss 3/4 pin seat mount that I will use or am thinking of reworking to replace the style ( 1.75) drilling and welding the pipe under the new plate to fit the 1.75 post.
I don't know much about 3/4 pin base's like are they as strong as the snap-lock base etc.
Any help or opinions would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Paul

Going to use the 3/4 pin base instead of modifying it into 1.75 snap-lock.
Just have to buy a new 3/4 pin post.
