    My gosh!

There is so much to learn when it comes to day trading. I have been cramming for about a month now, and feel like I haven't even scratched the surface. Sure is fun though. I've lost a little here and gained a little there. For the month I'm about even. If I would have sold when I was supposed to and bought when I was supposed to, I would be at about 20% on the plus! But I'm learning and getting addicted. I find myself wanting to inject more and more money, but I know this is only fun money for me for now. Just so damn tempting. I almost feel it's a better time for me than hanging out at the local casino. I have never played a month straight at the casino, but I can guarantee I would be negative and not even. Anyway, to a stock I just bought in on before a gap up. Aralez pharmaceutical... any thoughts? Seems like a golden ticket with everything I read. Just wish I had more to invest.

A couple things. You will never buy the lowest or sell the highest, just buy low and sell high. Never be afraid to take a profit. Sell half, take the profit, and make more when the other half goes up.

Have a goal or target. When it hits sell and never dwell on woulda shoulda. A friend of mine has 10%. If it goes up 10% he sells.

Good god man put spcws between paragraphs lol. Don't know anything on your biotech.

If you treat it like a casino, it will treat you like a gambler. Has taken me years and I am still working on my process. I had a few stock picks that I thought were golden tickets with everything I read. They didn't work out to be and they rarely do. I like to think of reports as propaganda or pump and dump schemes. So don't get too excited about things you read about certain stocks. And who knows what happens with your golden ticket, but wealth or making this a career doesn't happen with golden tickets.

Thanks boneil, fortunately, I'm not trying to make a career in it, just a good past time to possibly make some money. I'm just buying things that I personally feel have a good long term. Just putting a little in here and there and sooner or later, one will be a good buy.

I'm learning these stops are very handy when you can't keep your eye on this stuff all day. I just set my stops up as a safe guard to not lose money. Worst that happens to me is I break even.

I like reading your posts. I've started investing at the same time you have and I feel the same way about just scratching the surface. It is fun though! Made my 20% on TWTR on the take over rumors and waiting to see how it levels back out before I get back in.

Rds_nc I appreciate it! I was a loser today, but from what I see, double winner tomorrow! Or so I hope hahaha, I'm just learning what I can whenever I can, and hope to find a company that goes from $3 to 200 one day.

For. What I can see, you can play hype pretty easily, not that it's consistent, but I'm seeing pretty decent results. I find a company with some kind of notable news, buy in, and then sell off by 845 central time. It's been 5% + gains doing so. The only problem is I have limited funds and they are constantly being tied up and I'm still not sure what happens on this free ride stuff.

I know I'm a novice, but I also know my 401k mad 3% ytd and I'm even in the month, but with a little knowledge I'm sure I could go above 3%

goodluck and good buys my friend

ps- how were those paragraphs??? ;)

The "free ride" stuff is total B.S. avoid it. I forget how long my account was locked and in the penalty booth, but it sucked.

If you really want to gamble some money look into some penny stocks, it can be addictive if you have some play money you do not care to lose. I don't often get involved in them but bought a lot of one in particular at .31 per share and a lot more at .54 per share at different times this year.. It went to 1.66 two days ago and I dumped a 1/3rd of it and made a nice chunk of change I just rolled back into that IRA. It's now back down to 1.28 this morning but I'm already in the green no matter what. If you have the time to dedicate to babysit stocks like that you can make a couple hundred here and there.

Derek, any particular places to get a sneak peak on some decent penny stocks?

The one I have been watching is involved in drone technology which is supposed to become a huge industry over the next two years. I just happened to stumble across this one reading about drone racing and using drones for business purposes. VMRI, check it out. They are currently working with Walmart who is testing their drones for unmanned inventory management. I tend not to listen to a lot of what I read, more following trends and when you see something like this you just have to take a chance. Most times you will lose...lol

I would be careful with the OTC (penny) stocks. You can really be a victim on pump and dumps. They are penny stocks for a reason.

That's why I mentioned it's a gamble and most of the times you will lose. I've bought into two over since I started investing and both worked out well. The one I mentioned here is one that could really breakout if a few stars align. Outside of that I stay away from them. I typically invest in well known dividend paying stocks and thats about it.
