[QUOTE=WantOne;7822583]Jackplate sandblasted, gonna do the part on transom too by hand
Clear coat or leave raw aluminum?
Which would keep nicer longer, any recommendations?
I think clearcoat might peel off and raw might be more likely to discolor.[/QUOTE

Have it POWDER COATED clear !! Polish it up first, then it will shine a long long time !!

I have an 89, got it a year ago October 2015. Gave it the TLC it needed including all new seats. Fished all summer and love the boat. Noticed you had the gauges out. My gauges are all original and all light up; however, some work, others work intermittently and some do not work. I don't have the skills to fix them. I'd like to keep the originals if they can be repaired as they have a nice gold trim. If some of yours are not working, what route you going to have all of them working?

Funny you ask, I just ordered all new gauges yesterday
It did't have the gambler originals, it had random old junk so they all had to go
If you want factory replacement gauges they might have them in the Gambler store
If they work intermittently maybe check for loose wiring/ connections

It was getting too cold to work in the garage so added some insulation and a better heater.
Also tore out cabinets I hit my head on about 3 times a day
Got the trailer out from under the boat and have been wet sanding the bottom.
    Looking great!

Please let us know how you did this? I really need to work on my trailer and the lake is frozen.

getting the boat off the trailer, are those just jackstands?

if your not needing to fill a dash hole, volt and spedo would be first ones i would get rid of.

I am really happy with how the area under transom cleaned up
It was stained with black tar around the fittings and heavily stained brown

    Now onto gelcoat chip repairs..
