    New Boat Performance Issues

First this is my first post so I hope I wont get beat up to bad but it was suggested that I ask around on here for some opinions. I recently bought a 22' xpress bay boat with a 200 sho w/power tech OFX3 23 pitch 3 blade prop also has a 6" hydraulic jack plate. When I try to get up on plane just as the nose breaks over it is breaking loose from the water this is with the jack plate all the way down and trim all the way down. The engine revs up and looses bite on the water and throws a big wheel wash out the back. Once it does get on plane all I can get out of the boat on top end (loaded with 6 people or just me) is 50 GPS and thats trim half way or all the way up and it doesn't matter if i raise the jack plate or not it just builds more RPM's. It is actually harder to steer trimmed all the way up. I took it back to my dealer and they test drove it and said it was a prop issue so they call power tech and they want to put a 19 or 21 pitch prop. Anyone on here have the same setup or these type issues before or recommendation?

    It's indeed a prop issue.
A powertech four blade 21 should be the ticket on that sled. And a few more hours of wheel time.

A center console should never be confused with a bass hull, two different rides, two different needs. Fifty ish is pretty good, don't read about 70 mph bass speeds and think yours is broken, it's not.

I can see prop size affecting top end and holeshot. I just can't wrap my head around why it looses bite and washes out when trying to get up on the pad. It doesn't matter if I feather the throttle or stab in it it does the same thing.

That is called cavitation, and that means air is getting into a place you don't want any air in.
First, make sure there isn't ANYTHING blocking water flow to the prop, transducers are the usual suspect, but speedo pickups, big dings can also cause pain.
If your prop has vent holes, they could be causing over ventilation. You can use JB weld and close them off one at a time and see if it helps. Getting more cup on your blades also can help.

    BUT...
If you're running the wrong prop to start, then it's a lot of wasted effort. Let them put the smaller wheel on, you'll see a big difference. I like PT props a lot on CC hulls, they make a tough prop that can take quite the beating.
