    Question External antenna

    Does Garmin have an external antenna similar to Lowrance point one antenna? Also would it be beneficial to add one on a 7612sxv?

    I saw on bassmaster live the other day that Hackney had a gps puck mounted behind his drivers seat and was wondering what kind of external antenna he was using.

    you can use the point 1 or any other NMEA 2000 heading sensor. i chose the airmar h2183 and GH2183

    Two questions; What made you go with the airmar over the point one, any specific reason? Could you tell a huge difference?

    the airmar is just a more advanced unit. it's much more expensive though
