Rivets aren't the pain in recarpeting, it is getting all those nuts and screws back through the original holes for the hinges in all the lids!
Nice looking job by the way! Biggest challenge is the passenger side rod storage on the back deck, but I bet you have already found lots of patches when taking out the orginal carpet. Your carpet will definately turn out better than factory!

went with 20 oz instead of the 18 that was factory... padded the front deck also ( in front of the storage boxes only )

ImpulseRods, what item number or part number are those faria gauges? Also is the third gauge from the left(top row) PSI or water temp?

hotchops777 I don't have the exact part #'s, I got 4 of them from a buddy that never used them in his drag boat. I bought the tach and volt gauge off of Amazon... the third gauge is PSI...

Have you checked the transom? The brown streaks coming from the top cap and tie downs don't look good.

MMosher, I was worried about that... without going into it, it looks and sounds pretty solid... I am definitely going to keep an eye on it... Probably won't pull a skier from that side :)

I'd throw the heat lamps on it for a few weeks while you've got it taken apart. The black streaks are definitely a red flag and need investigating.

It has been inside a shop over a month, hopefully it had dried out... My buddy that is working on it has been doing boat work for 43 or so years, he looked it over inside and out, and he said it is solid... BUT, I will ask him about the heat lamps, thanks for that tip... Without tearing it apart, it is a waiting game now...

If it's wet setting it inside won't do anything. Ya gotta steam it out and let it dry w heat lamps. I've been thru the wet transom game and it wasn't fun. Not saying your friend doesn't know what he's doing but those black streaks are a pretty big red flag and potentially dangerous if it's to far gone. It's your rig and do what ya like but I'd stop sinking money into it until I positively knew the transom was not wet. If not it's all for nothing. Best of luck.
