Most boats had no wood after 1998 or so I bet rangers were one of the first to have no wood also

soft lids more likely to be an issue

Transom all fiberglass from 88 on. Not sure when the rest of the boat went wood free but I know it was after 1999 because my 518 has wood decks.

My 2002 518 had the fiberglass deck. I would think the 2001 had the same.

My 2000 518dvx has fiberglass over plywood. I have some soft spots on the front deck that needs attention.

surprises me as stratos had no wood after 99 and always figured ranger was on the leading edge of technology

The only "leading edge" Ranger has ever been on is marketing and hype.
