Too much pitch on prop for that motor, just guessing but you probably need a 19-21 pitch prop to get your lift.
who puts prop on dealer or ranger
I'm going to say the dealer does. Reason I say it's too much pitch is I have a 200 Pro XS 4s and mine has a 22p.
If your engine is a command thrust, I'd say the prop is pretty close. Should be a 24 or 25 pitch.
I was wondering if motor is to high in water not allowing prop to get a good bite
What is your RPM? Needs to turn 6000-6300 wide open or you will never get the full performance out of that motor.
according to what i read 6000 is max rpm got it up to 6000 rpm still plowing nose only getting about 39 to 40 mpg
yes it is Pro XS i was wrong 6300 is to rpm max
talk to 2 dealers , both said ranger mounting motor in 2nd or like mine 3rd hole . they said lower on jack plate see what i get
On my 188p I had the proxs with the big lower unit, ran a 23p fury no jackplate and could run 52 mph max
